kdj Posted April 2, 2016 #1 Share Posted April 2, 2016 Hi! Has anyone had any recent success using the Ripple app to text/communicate with passengers onboard NCL? Our family is cruising on Escape next month, and would love to use this app, but I've heard that some cruise lines have blocked this app from working... (I know you can use post it notes, white boards and walkie talkies, but if technology has finally addressed this issue hundreds of cruisers would use each week, that would be awesome, right!?!) ColinIllinois Posted April 2, 2016 #2 Share Posted April 2, 2016 NCL has their own app called iConcierge. https://www.ncl.com/apps
kdj Posted April 2, 2016 Author #3 Share Posted April 2, 2016 that's right! I forgot about that app! I read that some passengers were having spotty results with the texting/calling....have you used it and found it worked well?

Demonyte Posted April 3, 2016 #5 Share Posted April 3, 2016 App itself is free, call/text functionality between the apps (and calling to/from any ship phone) require $7.95/device/cruise activation fee.
@Cruise Posted April 5, 2016 #6 Share Posted April 5, 2016 So...with the app & $7.95 fee calls to each other on the ship are free?
MiamiCrew Posted April 5, 2016 #7 Share Posted April 5, 2016 Yes, calls and texts on the app are free. It worked great for us. Only problem is that you can not do group texts. A bit of a pain when traveling with a family or group. Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
funfun8800 Posted April 10, 2016 #8 Share Posted April 10, 2016 Just off the Getaway and most of us purchased the $7.95 plan for the week. I noticed sometimes it was slow in sending/receiving texts but definitely worth the small fee for keeping in touch w/ others in your party (assuming the download and pay for the service as well)
