Welcome to CC. Yes, the 70's party is a regular event, 1x per sailing across the fleet. Some guests do dress up. Best place to see on Oasis is from Rising Tide Bar. You just need to make sure you get to the bar early as they stop it midway for the show.

Our experience is that very few guests dress up.

Only seen a few guests dress up.

 

Another good place to watch the promenade is from the end of the photo shop where it overlooks the promenade. Other ships have mini-balconies that hang out over the forward area of the promenade, but don't I recall if Oasis class have those.

just so you know..the 70's party is really a disco party, not rock and roll 70's music..it should be renamed as some have said it is misleading ...if you like disco music, you'll love the party..if not you will hate it

The most forward area of the Schooner bar was a decent vantage point.

 

Also, when I was on Allure Rising Tides was being sold for $40 a person. It did include drinks, think food, and trinkets.

We were on the Oasis this past March and I think our group of 12 were the only passengers that were dressed up. Don't let that stop you - we had a great time with it.
