Specifically on the Royal, does this package include milkshakes and malts, or are those not a part of it? And can you get sodas in cans, or is it strictly fountain? Finally, do you have to schlep your tumbler with you everywhere you go, or do they just use regular glasses if you don't have it with you?

Here is the Princess text

"Indulge yourself with this premium Unlimited Soda & More Package, entitling you to unlimited fountain soft drinks, plus mocktails, juices, and complimentary hot chocolate throughout your cruise. Price includes service charge."

Milkshakes/malts - can't remember, if they do have them included it would only be at Swirls on the Lido deck.

Fountain soda only, no cans

You do not have to have the tumbler with you. We never carry it. The bars provide the glasses. At some bars you can get large glasses, but at some bars they only have small glasses.

You can not use the package on Princess Cays, if you are going there. They only have canned soda on Princess Cays which is not included.

I will mention one other thing. We were on the Royal this past Feb/Mar. Although it is not advertised we asked and were able to get the soda only package which is $5.25/day instead of $8.05/day. Don't know if they are still offering this option.

Milkshakes and malts were included in December, 2015. My understanding is that they are available on those ships that have an ice cream outlet.

Fountain serve beverages only. No need to carry your cup--they will fill a glass for you. Daughter had a larger cup which they happily filled. You just need the card with the sticker on it...and ultimately they know your face and don't even look at the sticker any more.

We bought the "and more" last time, but I'm hoping the "soda only" is still available on our next cruise. $3 per day savings doesn't seem like much, but if you aren't using the "and more" features, why pay for them?

The Royal (and Regal) do not have the equipment to make milkshakes and malts and thus they are not included.

Strickly fountain except for root beer which only comes in a can.

No need to carry a tumbler. And feel free to ask for a large glass instead of a small one.
