MAJ Posted June 14, 2016 #1 Share Posted June 14, 2016 My TA here in the UK booked my transfer direct with Royal : I had already phoned Royal to ask about the transfer they told me they did that but I had to book it through my TA : My TA did this for me even giving my flight details & times to them from Orlando Now my final payment for the cruise is Friday & Royal have just informed my TA the transfer was booked for Tampa Airport as they do not transfer to Orlando My cruise is Brilliance arriving October 31st : what would be the earliest flight I could book there are no direct flights & they are very expensive ? Plus they take all day Would it be possible to get a car service between the two? We do not drive Thanks
Capt_BJ Posted June 14, 2016 #2 Share Posted June 14, 2016 (edited) Leaving the sunshine of Tampa doesn’t have to been so gloomy if your next stop is the Orlando International Airport. As the second busiest airport in Florida, some might even consider it a destination in itself. So, hop on the shuttle from Tampa to Orlando Airport and enjoy the ride! http://www.expresstransportationnow.com/Shuttle-Van-Service-Transportation/shuttle-from-tampa-to-orlando-airport.html just one example google: tampa to orlando shuttle service the time it takes to shuttle from Tampa to the Orlando airport is a mere hour and fifteen minutes. JohninDC Posted June 14, 2016 #3 Share Posted June 14, 2016 (edited) Assuming your flight out of Orlando leaves late afternoon/early evening you will have lots of time - I would rent a car, put the bags in the trunk (boot to you), and go where you want/do what you want for the day. Avis and Hertz have locations close to the TPA port (2-3 blocks); if you get a better deal renting from the airport a taxi to the TPA airport is only $25+tip. If any of this helps you owe me a pint - bitter please! Edited June 14, 2016 by JohninDC

Capt_BJ Posted June 14, 2016 #7 Share Posted June 14, 2016 7pm .... you have tons of time ..... fortunately, there is a lot to do in the Orlando airport to help spend your time .... ALL the big Orlando parks have gift shops in the airport. You can buy a stuffed Shamu, a wizard wand and a Mickey/Minnie and enjoy US treats like Chic Filet . . . skrufy Posted June 14, 2016 #8 Share Posted June 14, 2016 You have plenty of time to get from Tampa to MCO. Eliminating the high cost to fly such a short distance and renting a car, all thats really left is a limo/shuttle. Look through previous posts here for limo services and also google Tampa services. Its not going to be cheap, but cheaper than flying. TPA to MCO is 93 miles, about a 2 hour or so ride barring any I-4 delays. A few years back we had car trouble and had to take a cab from central Florida to Port Canaveral, a 60 mile trip. The cost was $80.00 back then. Good luck. Give yourself plrnty of time for the trip and the TSA security check. The lines can get long and slow moving at times.
