Day after cruise at FLL

Our post cruise flight home won't be until 8pm.

I'm trying to decide between a day hotel (like Rodeway) or just going to the beach & Hooters.

Question - are there showers (open air is fine) by the beach? I'd want to wash off the sand and salt water before flying home.

Thoughts/ Suggestions appreciated.

What time of year?

March-November the beach would be lovely and yes, there are showers.

December-February may be more pool weather depending on your day. Last December was VERY hot.

Ooh! That is the night of the Winterfest Boat Parade! It is a shame you will miss it.

Last December was hot as hell or raining. I would play it by ear, check a couple of days before.

Definitely go with the Renaissance over the Rodeway if it is in the 70s.

If it is nice, Santa will be on the beach.

We will be staying at Gallery One after our cruise (Saturday ) and most of the day Sunday before heading home. I need a good place to have dinner Saturday (3adults 1 child) and maybe a Sunday Brunch. we will not have a car so it's public transportation. We like most any type of food....any suggestions?? And thanks in advance for any advice!

These are in the mall right behind the hotel.

Trulucks (seafood)

Seasons 52 (American)

Capital Grille (Steak)

PF Changs (Asian)

All of those are excellent. There are a couple of restaurants across the street from the mall that are good. Tijuana Flats for one.

Thanks, any Italian favs? Is Sunday Brunch worthwhile?

Cafe Vico and Casa D'Angelo are excellent Italian restaurants about a mile away. If you want something casual and less pricey, Il Mulino is good and even closer, an easy walk of about 5 blocks.

I don't do brunch, so I can't give you good advice on that.

I definitely do Sunday Brunch (Sharon, y'all need to meet me one Sunday!) but I usually only do Las Olas.

My faves on Las Olas:

American Social

Big City Tavern

Roccos Tacos

Louie Bossi

Yolo
