VermeulT Posted July 12, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 12, 2016 Our post cruise flight home won't be until 8pm. I'm trying to decide between a day hotel (like Rodeway) or just going to the beach & Hooters. Question - are there showers (open air is fine) by the beach? I'd want to wash off the sand and salt water before flying home. Thoughts/ Suggestions appreciated.

December-February may be more pool weather depending on your day. Last December was VERY hot.

eandj Posted July 12, 2016 #4 Share Posted July 12, 2016 The Renaissance on 17th St. offers day rooms too. Nicer location, five minutes from port and very nice property. You have to check for availability via phone.
BlueHerons Posted July 12, 2016 #5 Share Posted July 12, 2016 (edited) Oops - forgot that little tidbit of info. Dec 10th. Ooh! That is the night of the Winterfest Boat Parade! It is a shame you will miss it. Last December was hot as hell or raining. I would play it by ear, check a couple of days before. Definitely go with the Renaissance over the Rodeway if it is in the 70s. If it is nice, Santa will be on the beach. There are a couple of restaurants across the street from the mall that are good. Tijuana Flats for one. Edited July 14, 2016 by BlueHerons

royalcruz Posted July 15, 2016 #9 Share Posted July 15, 2016 Cafe Vico and Casa D'Angelo are excellent Italian restaurants about a mile away. If you want something casual and less pricey, Il Mulino is good and even closer, an easy walk of about 5 blocks. I don't do brunch, so I can't give you good advice on that. BlueHerons Posted July 15, 2016 #11 Share Posted July 15, 2016 Thanks so much, maybe I can get someone else to chime in on Sunday Brunch!! I definitely do Sunday Brunch (Sharon, y'all need to meet me one Sunday!) but I usually only do Las Olas. My faves on Las Olas: American Social Big City Tavern Roccos Tacos Louie Bossi Yolo
