Sailing on Carnival in Sept

Anyone know if we are able to purchase alcohol in the port shops and take it with us (for the port day)

No real port shops in OSJ..across the street is a Walgreens and CVS where you can purchase adult beverages.

If the Walgreens at the Sheraton Old San Juan is completed and open, that one is right across the street from the Carnival dock. At the end of that block is where you will find the CVS. Not a huge selection, but if you just want to pick up some booze and you aren't pick about the brands, it'll do. I think there was some Don Q rum at the CVS (I wasn't there for booze, but snack food and a big bottle of water for my night at the Sheraton).
