jsdjkl35 Posted July 25, 2016 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2016 We are considering booking one of the aft Neptune Suites on the Nieuw Amsterdam, hoping that it will give us a semi-panoramic view of Inside Passage and other Alaska sights. Are these aft Neptune Suites (category SB) the same size as the other Neptune Suites (SA)? Does the balcony actually "wrap-around" the corner? And (finally), does one actually get a more panoramic view than one of the Neptune Suites that is on either the port or starboard side? Any other comments about these aft Neptune Suites? Thanks! CruiserBruce Posted July 25, 2016 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2016 The cabin size is not exactly the same size as the SAs. They are a little smaller. Yes, the balcony does actually wrap around the side. Yes, this does improve the panoramic view. That is just one of the MANY reasons they are very popular.

For comparison and IMHO, the balcony extends from the back of the ship around to the side in SB5186 (May 2016) and can easily hold 40+ of your friends. The SA staterooms on the side of the ship will hold 10 of your friends. For comparison, an aft-wrap stateroom allows you to see everything at the back of the ship and one entire side of the ship. An SA stateroom will allow you to see what is at the side of the ship. That is 180 degrees vs about 120 degrees for photographic opportunities from your own balcomy. Here is a link to my photo review of the Nieuw Amsterdam from May 2016 in Alaska to include SB5186: http://www.rogerjett-photography.com/photo-reviews/ms-nieuw-amsterdam-on-board-images/ Edited July 26, 2016 by Crew News
