Access to hdmi & usb ports on tvs

Will be cruising on Anthem does anyone know whether you have access to input ports on the tvs in your rooms? Is the internet signal good enough to stream videos off the net.

The ship's WiFi is all over the ship, including staterooms. With the stream package, you should be able to stream videos.

We were on Anthem last month and were able to connect our iPad to the TV. We used the Direct TV app to watch live TV and stored shows. Most of the time it worked great. Hardest part is getting to the hdmi port. On ours it was on the lower right hand corner. TV pulls out of a hinged bracket on the left side.

 

We brought a Samsung remote, Apple Lightning A/V Adapter and hdmi cable.

On our TA last October on the Allure, we streamed Rugby Union Grand Final on my laptop which was connected by HDMI to the TV. This was when the ship was outside satellite TV coverage.

The tv can be angled towards the sofa. Ours was hard to unlatch, there is a ball and socket type closure in the middle on the side. I'll take a pic when back in cabin

Yes, pulling it out was easy once we figured it out and that we weren't going to break something!

Yep, that looks exactly like our cabin setup. I'm on Allure in September and I hope it works the same way.

Thanks for posting the pictures! We'll be in a GS on Harmony for the crossing, and I know my husband will want to try this, but a wee bit nervous about pulling the mounted tv away from the wall. :eek:

Special thanks to fligster for such a quick response and taking time from his cruise to post pics of the ports :) Now I know that the tvs are on a mount and can be pulled away from the wall to get access to the ports! Also thanks to everyone for their posts. There is nothing that fellow cruisers cannot help with.

Those ball and socket latches usually work by first pushing in on the TV and then puling it out from the wall.

Wow, I just posted in another thread we couldn't find the HDMI ports and there ya go! I had no idea you could pop the TV off the wall like that. Thank you for resurrecting this old thread.
