Strange scheduling

Always good to find an interesting cruise , and Bergen to Montreal sept /17 ticked a few boxes.

Started planning as we need to grab points flights 350 days out.

To my surprise , I find that there are actually two identical itineraries 10 days apart.

Viking Sky on the 9th sept and Viking Sea on the 19th.

How strange !

Will they run both ?

Will they eventually cancel/redirect one ?

Which one ?

I have asked my ta these questions , but no answer so far…. :-)

My guess is that they will run both. If I recall the Sea is going to take the world cruise starting in Miami and would be a smart way to bring her from the European area to the Americas. The Sky will stay and do the same itineraries the Star is doing this year. This s is only a GUESS?

I was just checking all of this out. The SUN will be doing the world cruise, with a couple of cruises to Cuba before it takes off for London via the western route. The SEA will be doing various Caribbean runs and I can't figure out what SKY or STAR will be doing for the winter. A month by month chart showing what each ship will be doing would be so helpful!!!!!

Lots of responses , thanks everyone

Soo.. as they have 1800 odd pillows to occupy , will they start discounting ?

We are Silversea regulars and have no idea how Viking manage their discounting structure.

Do they have any kind of a lowest price guarantee system ?

They might but not until much, much closer to the sail date. Or they might offer some fantastic deal on air-fare in lieu of a discount.

No. Not at this time. With so few ships to fill and a lot of people looking to give Viking Oceans a try, they seem to be filling their ships at least to break-even if not to capacity and doing it without much discounting.
