Victory 9/11/2016: Stream of Consciousness

Random thoughts off the top of my head.

• The food in the MDR was great.

• Niall the guitar folk singer made the cruise.

• Why is it that the people that need to cover up in the Lido restaurant, don’t?

• Nassau and Freeport suck.

• The shows were the best we ever saw on Carnival.

• Alchemy bar was different and fun.

• The layout of the Lido restaurant is the worst, almost ruined the fact that the food was actually good.

• Won a Ship-on-a-Stick.

• Once A day service PM is OK, (We were offered AM, PM or both)

• Deck 7 balcony rooms not “Beautified”.

• Antonio Jr, was a fantastic waiter, always singing.

• Cruise director Lisa… What were they thinking, a nasty loud and obnoxious person.

• If you smoke on your balcony, I will turn you in. And no, YOU were starting to ruin MY vacation, not the other way around.

• New menus. Great flat Iron.

• Hey, you, sloppy drunk. As you found out, not everyone enjoyed seeing your wife take off her top in the Serenity hot tub. I’m 60 and I would guess she was at least 5 years older than me from the looks of those things.

• Drink Service around the pools was always good.

• Yes, I did get a bottle of vodka on.

• Amirit our steward was awesome, did a great job with what he had to work with, namely the pink yucky bathroom.

• Rob in the Irish Seas piano bar was a hoot. Ask him about the medicinal “blue pez”.

• Off the ship and in our car in less than 15 minutes.

• First time ever no formal wear for us, I missed it. Next time we will.

• Missed the comedians. Too many people.

This was our 4th Carnival Cruise, and I can’t keep count of how many in total since the 80’s.

For the price we paid, we had a wonderful time.

Is the ship new? No. Was everything perfect? No. Did that bother us? No.

Would we do it again? You bet!

Thanks for the review, The Victory is one of my favorites for a short cruise! Will be on her on 11/11, did they have a Latin band on board on your cruise, and was your room remolded? We have an ocean view on the second deck. Thx.

The Latin band played mostly in the casino lounge, which we avoided most of the time due to smoke wafting in from the casino itself.

Our room was not remodeled, I do understand all deck 2 rooms have been updated. Also, we did see inside deck 7 interiors and they had the updated bath also.

What was your smuggling technique?

Something commercially available, but not Rum Runners.

Maybe something for your hair? ;)

I do not want to give it away as I've been using them for about 6 years and so far, so good.

Of course, now I jinxed myself.

I was just on this ship a few months ago, and I agree with you about the layout of the lido, although I personally didn't like the layout of the whole ship. I can't really explain why, I just didn't like it. I also didn't see a real difference in the MDR menu then past cruises ... interesting if perhaps they just recently changed it since I sailed. Definitely agree about drink service by the pools - I never had an issue getting service, as well as the one show I saw - absolutely fantastic.
