I got one because it was my birthday. I was told that I could use it towards a bottle of wine purchased at the dining room, which I could drink there, bring back to the room, or take off the ship. Since we don't drink, our waiter helped me choose one, we paid the difference (and the tip on the difference), and we're giving it to our neighbor who took care of our mail while we were gone.

 

Not sure if yours is any different, but Guest Services could also help you. She was the one who told me I could only use it in the dining room.

I got one last cruise because, um, I don't know. Nothing special. It was in my cabin one day. I brought it to dinner and shared the wine with my tablemates.

If you order a $25 bottle of wine, there are no additional charges (gratuity);

If you order a bottle over $25, you are charged the difference plus the gratuity on the difference.
