spunkymoldy Posted October 31, 2005 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2005 Does Holland America offer free shuttles at each port to the town/city? I am going on the Ancient Wonders cruise next year and was wondering if anything was offered?
RuthC Posted October 31, 2005 #2 Share Posted October 31, 2005 Not usually, anymore. Was a time that a free shuttle was pretty much standard, but that hasn't been my experience the last several years. Once in a while, yes, but it's not the usual and customary. There is usualy a shuttle for a fee. Sometimes the shops or tourist bureaus will get together and sponsor a shuttle, but HAL doesn't even let the passengers know about it until the very last second. alsas Posted October 31, 2005 #3 Share Posted October 31, 2005 sorry not easy answer. On the world cruise most ports shuttles were provided. 18 day pannama no shuttles. When docking makes it a long way to taxi or port does not allow you to walk in dock area they will provide shuttle to taxi area. Happy sailing Alsas
Rare Copper10-8 Posted November 1, 2005 #4 Share Posted November 1, 2005 Hard to say nowadays but I agree with Ruth, that it has become rare for HAL. We had a shuttle in August in Helsinki but they charged us $5 a piece for it's use
jhannah Posted November 1, 2005 #5 Share Posted November 1, 2005 If I remember correctly, in Belfast a couple of months ago they charged $8 per person each way. We took a cab and got there quicker (didn't want to wait for the bus to fill up.)
