Rare alrichards4003 Posted September 26, 2016 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2016 Back from our week on the Escape. We stayed in the Haven Spa Suite and I think really enhanced our experience. The overall experience was excellent, there were some bumps, but on balance, for the surly service experiences, there were many more superior ones. BTW, I see I did not mention, it was my husband and I, both 44. Since we booked the suite we got the 4 offers, pub, 4sdp, 250 minutes of internet and $50 shore excursion credit. I booked the 4 restaurants for both of us and Le Bisto for me for the first night, I also booked For the Record for both of us and Wine Lovers for me. We had some issues with dog sitters in the past, but now have a great company that sends us journals with pictures and our dogs and cats love them. Notwithstanding that, the "handsome devils" were not amused we were going on another cruise. We flew into Ft. Lauderdale, and finally made it to Miami. Security was a breeze, but we were taken into one of two Haven waiting rooms. They kept taking people and finally it was our turn. They took my husband and I and a family of 3, we bypassed some lines, including the photographer:) They took us the Haven lounge, gave us a drink and Adrian the concierge gave his speech about Haven. Rare alrichards4003 Posted September 26, 2016 Author #6 Share Posted September 26, 2016 My husband was devouring the fruit, so we went the Haven restaurant for lunch. We both had seafood misto as an appetizer, good but huge. I had the Brie burger and DH had the linguine with clams. My husband never orders dessert, just too full, but then shares mine. Carrot Cake. Rare alrichards4003 Posted September 26, 2016 Author #7 Share Posted September 26, 2016 We had a 7:00 sail away and 4:30 muster. My master plan was to have drinks on 8 and since our muster spot was on the theater on 7 only have to walk down 1 flight of stairs. Off to 5 o'clock somewhere and the Chocolate Cowboy. My husband is a smoker, he went into the cigar room. When he opened the door, it was thick with smoke, he said they did not have the fans on, but did after that. I sat in Tobacco room waiting for him. They stopped serving at 3:30 for the 4:30 drill. There was a woman next to me, who was at least 70, who was irate about them stopping service. Even though the had pulled metal grates over all of the liquor bottles, she insisted they neede to lift them up and make her a drink, everyone in her party was trying to explain to her that it was not going to happen. I planned on using the last night, but I got back to the room late. We had the same room on Breakaway and I used it then and my husband used it several times. Rare alrichards4003 Posted September 27, 2016 Author #11 Share Posted September 27, 2016 Well my master plan was disrupted. DH had a back ache and I had medicine in the room. Luggage was there so we unpacked. We walked the 9 flights to the theater. Muster was fine. Afterwards people act "manners-challenged". We went to Skyline bar to avoid the crowds and have a drink, they were setting up for an art auction which we did not stay for. JerseyMom Posted September 27, 2016 #12 Share Posted September 27, 2016 Thank you. When leaving the cruise always so excited to get home to them. I know how you feel and I am sure that they won't hold it against you that you went on the cruise and left them at home. I am especially interested in how you liked the Spa - my sister and I are in a Spa mini-suite February 2017.

I am especially interested in how you liked the Spa - my sister and I are in a Spa mini-suite February 2017. The spa is wonderful, I did not use the Haven courtyard. The spa only allows a certain number of people. It was quiet and relaxing. I will have pictures later.
Rare alrichards4003 Posted September 27, 2016 Author #14 Share Posted September 27, 2016 My husband and I normally do half of our dinners together. He complains abou Le Bistro, but always loves the food. I made a reservation for myself. He then said he wanted to go. I had wanted lobster, but there was no lobster except in the MDR for an up charge. I had escargot and my husband had the profiteroles, as he only wanted dessert. I had scallops over puréed cauliflower. Meh. I didn't want dessert, but since DH and server insisted, I had creme brûlée.
Rare alrichards4003 Posted September 27, 2016 Author #15 Share Posted September 27, 2016 I played in the casino for a few minutes, then went to Howl at the Moon. I spent a good while there, then it was time to call it a night. DH was already asleep. Our first towel animal. End of Day 1.

The lunch menu in the picture is the same menu that we had on the Gem earlier this month, where lunch for Haven & suite guests was served in Cagney's (breakfast in Moderno). I believe it is standard across the fleet, as is the Haven/Suite breakfast menu.
