MD open for embarkation on Epic?

I read a review for the Epic that specifically stated the main dining room wasn't open for lunch on embarkation day. Is this the case?

We have never been on the Epic but many other NCL ships. One main dining room has always been open for lunch at embarkation. Crew always tries to direct you to the buffet but the dining room is much more relaxing. Think it is open from about 12 - 2

If that is the case then it is a very recent change.

 

There is lots of incorrect information included amongst the reviews. I'm pretty sure this is an example.

On our Epic cruises, Taste has always been open for lunch. But on any given sailing, they might decide for whatever "operational reasons" not to do that.

I have the Freestyle Daily in front of me from Sunday 2nd October (Barcelona embarkation day) - on that day, open for lunch were:

- Garden Café (buffet) - 11.30am to 4pm

- Taste (MDR) - 12noon to 2pm

 

There is also O'Sheehans (always open)

We just came off the Epic on 9th Oct and Taste was open for lunch on embarkation days Noon-2pm

 

We really enjoyed it, can recommend the chocolate and orange mousse if it's the same menu :D

Thank you for the replies. It's possible the lady that wrote the review got to dining room after 2:00. I would miss having lunch in the MD so if it were true, I was trying to prepare myself :rolleyes:

Here's what I had in Taste on 02 October after we boarded at about 1pm, so definitely open!
