How do the tickets to the shows work?

I am traveling with a party of 7 who are in three rooms. Going online I can reserve for “Million Dollar Quartet” and “Burn the Floor” for certain performances. I can only reserve for my cabin.

Do they give out physical tickets upon check in? If yes, can those be given out to anyone?

I’m not sure if everyone in my party wants to go to these shows. I would like to avoid having us order 7 tickets and then only use 4.

No, you simply make a reservation and then your key card is swiped at the door.

Make the reservations. It is better to have them and not need them. They are connected to your card, which will be checked prior to entering the theatre. Reservations are released approximately 15 minutes before show time.

I've seen it two ways. On Breakaway they scanned each of our cards to get in. On Epic they only scanned my card and let us both in. To be totally sure of no problems OP should create myNCL accounts for the other rooms and make reservations for those people.

Reservations are not necessary, but are handy if you really want to be sure you can see a particular showtime. Usually a non-rsvp line forms and is let in about 15min before show starts. I have never seen people in this line turned away, but I'm sure it happens. The advantage to making the reservation is to get in earlier and have a better chance of a large group sitting together or for better seat choice. I have also arrived to shows late, like 5 minutes before, and not been able to get seats even with reservations.
