Hello! Our family has decided to go on our first cruise. We have narrowed our choices down to 2 options and just can't decide....Carnival Fantasy or Carnival Triumph. I've read really good and really bad reviews on both ships. The destinations are good for either so mostly need help choosing between the ships. It will be 2 adults and 2 kids (15 and 11). Just want to have fun and have family time on this cruise. Also what part of the ship is best to choose? We are looking at an Ocean View room on either ship. Thanks for any and all help!!

On Triumph your balcony cabin will have a couch and upper bunk in ceiling for the kids. On Fantasy, they will be two bunks on the side walls, no couch. therefore, you will have more space in the cabin on Triumph. For more information about Carnival, visit the Carnival forum here at CC, under Cruise Lines A-O.

If those are your only choices go with Triumph. Fantasy is 27 years old and considered a very small ship, Fantasy is a loud party ship. Triumph is much larger and caters more to family's. Whichever you choose stay away from cruises less than 7 days as those are almost always party cruises. The reason you see such divergent reviews is that both ships are older and draw a lot of first time cruisers and repeat cruisers that just want to party. . happy cruising
