Yes, 7kg for flights for cruises, 5kg for regular package holidays and flight only deals.

 

It may also be 7kg for Thomsons so called premium package holidays such as "Platinum" etc., these will have a higher hold luggage allowance as well, 20kg I think.

 

Check in desk staff are not always clued up on the 7kg allowance, so you may have to correct them.

Agree with all that I have a confirmation email off Thomson which I take with me, we have been challenged in the past so make certain now😁

Yes for flights only/land based package holidays, for a fly/cruise package its 7kg all round, does not matter whether you are sat with the captain or in economy sat outside on the wings its still 7kg

7kg but ours was never weighed in either direction but staff can change. We even had some heavy bits in pockets! Maybe cruisers are treated better than the average package holiday tourist.

We always have standard economy seats for our fly cruises and it has always been 7kg, although as has been said, we have to have it highlighted on documentation to prove it if challenged by the desk clerk. I also have big pockets for additional heavy things!!

 

The only cruise flights where it is 5 kg is if you are not on a Thomson plane I believe.

Not on a Thomsons aircraft - any flight prefixed TOM.

 

As okavango says, it's a universal 7kg.

 

If the carrier is not Thomsons then their allowances will apply.

I contacted Thomson customer service yesterday asking them to clarify weight of hand luggage. I received email off them this morning confirming all cruise passenger have 1x 7kg hand luggage.

 

7kg is also stated in Thomson FAQ's

What if the carrier is not Thomsons ?

 

There have been comments hereabouts concerning baggage allowances on other airlines being less than on TOM flights.

When Thomson swapped our flight they informed us we had to deal with that particular airline for all luggage and seat requirements so we changed airport and flew Thomson but it's easy for us to change.

Went P&O last year and the flight was with Thomas Cook - they were strictly 5kg - all hand luggage was weighed at check-in :(
