I got my email today to bid on an upgrade for my April cruise. I am in a Balcony cabin currently and am thinking of putting a bid in for a spa cabin or a haven but am wondering if I don't like the location of the new room can I refuse it and keep my original balcony.

I would very much doubt it. I would think it is like buying a "Guarantee" cabin, you get what is available.

Also for those have you that have tried for an upgrade. Is the amount that shows up when you click on the cabin category the current bid?

No. Just like another CC member said - it's like getting the guarantee style of cabin. You get a category but you don't get location.

Once you win your bid, your credit card is charged, and the upgrade is yours.
