Vista reviews

I have booked a vacation the end of March 2018 for me and my family on the Vista. We have been on several Carnival cruises and NEVER have I been so disappointed that I could think of complaining about anything major. I have read so many mixed reviews of this ship. I have never seen it so badly split where you either loved it or hated it. Just wondering am I just too easy going when it comes to certain things or are the reviews correct and the ship is really that bad?

No you're just a cruiser who enjoys cruising and going with the flow, having no preconceived notions of "entitlement" or "cutbacks". Likes and dislikes, joys and disappointments are usually in the eye of the beholder and human behavior will usually over hype both, depending upon personal mood.

There are many things to like about the Vista as a ship, and as to it's amenities. Eating options, outdoor activities--Ropes and Sky Ride, etc.,, drinking options, music options, movie options, PIXELS, the Hub, the separation of the casino from the major decks that flow bow to stern, Havana deck, Serenity deck( and sea day salads) et. al.. For me the dislikes were in structural changes relative to the Dream and Breeze, primarily as these relate to the spa and the fitness center locker rooms. In short...too small. So I just stayed out of the whirlpool and steam rooms there and managed to take showers and shave in a smaller setting. My other peeve was the sound system in the Liquid Lounge. Too loud and more distorted than a Metallica concert.:D. But that could be due in part to my physical handicap--deafness and wearing hearing aids. So I just avoided shows in the Liquid Lounge. didn't break my cruise enjoyment.

Go and have a great time. :)

We loved the extra things we could do, and really enjoyed the ship.

We also have been on a lot of ships and never have really had a reason to complain... I was once in a room that vibrated so much when the thrusters came on that the screws came out of the door handle plate for the bathroom. I thought it was funny, not something to complain....

This ship just is different in a bunch of ways than what people are used too. I also think that some people think that if they pay as much as they are for the Vista, there should be no lines... there are 4000+ people on the ship, there are going to be lines...

You will enjoy the ship... if you like beer, go to the Red Frog Pub and Brewery and sign up for the tour.... make sure to carb load before hand, it is a lot of beer!

You are hearing mixed reviews because Vista is Carnival's one of a kind ship and it is not without its shortcomings. We were in a Havana cabin and the Havana area is heavenly, there is no other word for it. There are wonderful things about the ship and ultimately a cruise is what you make of it. I have never had a cruise that I have not enjoyed to the point of regretting being on a cruise.

Vista has its problems - I have disagree with the posters above - I go on a cruise for the whole experience and not to stay away from certain venues because they are not ideal -- Liquid lounge and the comedy club are very small for 4000 people and it was more than lines - I got trampled and overrun by people trying to watch Quest show, there were people standing on chairs to see it. So I should have stayed away from that or the shows in order to give it a good review?

There were disappointments but not enough to take away from the enjoyment of a cruise.

I have two future cruises booked on the Vista. We are excited to go and enjoy each one.

Some people in life are never happy and don't know how to be happy. Ignore them.

Life is what you make of it. I find it hard to believe that Carnival would spend $750M+ on a cruise ship for it to be "bad."

If one is cruising in busy season, expect Vista to be busy and full of people with children. It's still a new boat.

If you're seeking a more relaxed cruise, then cruise out of high season and Vista should be mostly adults with few children aboard thus less people on board.

Approximately 4000 people sail Vista every week since last May. Now consider that people are way more likely to write a review due to being upset than due to having fun. Now look at the small number of reviews and realize that they are irrelevant. A very small number considering the above. I read them for fun but I realize that most may have had a small negative experience when first boarding and are determined to find faults from that point on.
