Carry On Wine ??

Quick question regarding carrying on 2 bottles of Wine. I know in the past you were allowed to carry on 2 bottles of wine. Has this changed? We were on a Disney cruise a few weeks back and it was not a issue, and we have done this in the past on NCL, RC, and Carnival. We are not huge drinkers but do enjoy a glass in the room before dinner. Has anyone had issues recently?

If you want to take on wine, you have to pay a corkage fee. As long as we've been sailing NCL since the late 1990's we've not experienced a "bring on 2 bottles free" policy so perhaps you're thinking of another line?

We just took a bottle on Breakaway and it's $15 corkage for 750 ml, $30 for 1.5 L. Right after security, they send you over to the table to pay. A sticker is put on your bottle and your name and cabin # are noted on their clipboard.

Whether you drink it somewhere on the ship, in a restaurant or in your cabin, corkage still applies.

Only applies to wine - alcoholic spirits will be taken and stowed till the end of the cruise.

Being a 14 nighter, we saw one couple check on a whole case and we saw another couple with 3 bottles. They don't limit the # of bottles but they don't allow any boxed wines. There's a whole explanation on their website.

Princess allows you one bottle of wine per person free as long as it is drunk in the stateroom.

NCL has "never" had a policy like that. Corkage of $15 a 750ml bottle of WINE/Champagne and drink it where you like. No Liquor/Spirits allowed.
