Upon arrival, are the two beds separate or together into one bed? Can you request to have this done prior to arrival? Is this difficult to do yourself? Can you tell the bed (once together) is two beds (is there a gap, does it separate over time, do you sink towards middle, etc.)?

You can specify ahead of time.Usually the beds are together unless asked to separate. They do not move and you won't fall in the crack.You can't even feel it.

When they split the bed they move one of the narrow night tables from the side to the middle. It is quite a small separation. I usually travel with DH and the bed is one. We can feel the slight hump in the middle. Last month I cruised with my daughter and as requested the bed was split

We always ask prior to have the beds split (I travel with my mom) and about half the time it is done. If not, when we are allowed into the cabin, we ask the attendant to separate them. Usually it's done by the time we return from muster.
