Staffordshirecruiser Posted February 21, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2017 Hi, I am trying to decide between the Britannia cruise on 2 April to Canaries and 16 April round the Med. Which is likely to have the best weather? We like to have a wander round at the ports rather than take an excursion, are either any better in this respect? Any suggestions on port or starboard? On Britannia?
LondonTowner Posted February 21, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2017 It depends on the port's of call in the Med. In general, the Canaries will be warmer as they have an all year round sub tropical climate.
Rare P&O SUE Posted February 21, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2017 Another thing to consider with the Canaries is that P&O's sailings normally have 3 sea days at the start of the cruise, and at that time of the year I doubt it will be great weather for those 3 days. We went in June and it wasn't really nice until we got to Maderia. I think the Med ports have more do to nearer the ports, in the Canaries it seemed better to go out on tours to see the best of the islands on the whole.
