6moreyears Posted February 22, 2017 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2017 What type of weather temps can we expect while sailing on the Pacific from Hawaii to Vancouver in late April. Does anyone have any idea?
CruiserBruce Posted February 23, 2017 #2 Share Posted February 23, 2017 The temps are not predictable. But if you Google search "Vancouver April Weather" you will find the factual data, and get an idea.
kdkstormy Posted February 24, 2017 #3 Share Posted February 24, 2017 We did this itinerary last April. It was warm for the first day at sea but then was colder. If you find a spot out of the wind and in the sun it's great. We were on he Celebrity Solstice and the pool bar was a perfect spot [emoji3] Sent from my iPad using Forums
Sequim88 Posted February 24, 2017 #4 Share Posted February 24, 2017 (edited) Hawaii is barely in the tropical northeasterly trade winds zone and not far north of there is the more temperate Westerlies and once you pass into there it will get cooler. On this link you can see currently where Hawaii sits in relation to the border of the two zones. Clicking on a spot will show the temp at that spot. griffy116 Posted February 25, 2017 #5 Share Posted February 25, 2017 Leaving Hawaii about 7years ago on a cruise in April, the first day was warm. With each passing day, it got more windy, the seas got rougher and the temperature dropped. The actually closed the outdoor decks because plates and glasses were becoming flying objects as they were snatched by the wind. I bought a hooded sweatshirt.to wear on day 2. Night 3, we requested additional blankets and going out on the balcony was miserable. Day four, we were ordering hot chocolate and coffee with liquor in it instead of frozen drinks.
