Food Choices, Entertainment, Amenities, Staggered Check In

Recommended Posts

What complimentary food choices are available? How about the room service menu? 24 hour food choices?

Adults only pool area? How is the entertainment?

How well does the staggered check in work?

Might be easier to answer some of your questions if we knew what ship you are on.

It would be more helpful for specific answers if you tells us the ship and port you are sailing.

What complimentary food choices are available? How about the room service menu? 24 hour food choices?

Base room service is free 24/7 from about 6 pm on sail away day till breakfast before 7:30 am n disembarkation day. It's menu is mostly sandwiches and snacks, but for an enhanced (read as upcharge) menu where some hot items that can be ordered. The Pizza counter is also open 24/7 during the cruise though it does shut down for disembarkation.

The Main Dining Room and buffet is included with your fare price. Also the Taste Bar on seaday evening will offer bite size samples of food from the specialty restaurants. As to other included venues, such as the BBQ, Guy's Burgers, Blue Iguana Cantina, Mongolian Wok, Fish-n-Chips, the Rotisserie, and the Tandoori, that all depends on which ship you are on.

Adults only pool area? How is the entertainment?

Again for availability of amenities in the Serenity adult only area such as a pool or hot tub that all depends on the ship. Some ships have the adult only pool in an area that is open to children instead of in Serenity.

Entertain is available and what shows are offered nightly in the theater will vary by ship. The comedians rotate off ship every 2-4 days but there are usually 5 acts each night, with the 2 comics alternating who gives the performance. There will also be a Piano bar on every Carnival ship, as well as various bands, duets, and soloists that rotate between the different bars and lounges each night. On most days name that tune, trivia, and tradition cruising games can be played.

How well does the staggered check in work?

Again something that varies with each port and ship. In Baltimore you can not enter the terminal building before your scheduled check-in time, but because people still ignore the time listed if driving in you may still have to wait in a line for up to an hour to get to a parking space. Then with so many waiting outside it was hard to tell where to enter the building if you were there at your check-in time. In NYC it was a bit smoother with very few arriving ahead of schedule to clog up the sidewalk in front of the terminal. The staggered check-in there really did help cut down on traffic entering the terminal area.
