Embarkation Time Southampton

Apologies if already a thread on this, i did try searching first

 

Our first cruise with RCI and also first from Southampton, we are staying over previous night in Southampton so wondering what is the earliest we can embark (Ocean View so no Suite's), group of 10 so i'm in charge of all the arrangements:o

 

We are on "Independence of the Seas" from Saturday 27th May

We've sailed from Southampton with Royal and Celebrity 8 times (both use the same terminal). We use the official car parking and usually arrive at the terminal between 10.30 and 11am. We are generally onboard by 11.30 at the latest.

 

Enjoy Indy. She was our first ever cruise ship and we loved it and are revisiting her this September.

Good to know we don't need to hurry in the morning. We're also on the Indy this summer, staying at the Holiday Inn the night before. We'll just take our time in the morning, no reason to hurry up. And we're close too, so that helps.

With luck you will get your first view of Indy when you open your curtains in the morning. Your hotel couldn't be closer!

 

Southampton check in is really good. The staff are all very friendly (even security) and there are loads of check in desks

Just confirming Kevin's comments. We were on Indy last September and drove down and used the on site car park. Arrived in the car park about 12:20 ('cos we wanted to try and time it to go straight to our cabin) and at 12:50 we were having an ice cream from the machine by the pool. Straight to our cabin at 1:00 and all 3 of our bags were already there!! Best embarkation we've ever had! kctwinmommy - ask for a room with a view of the dock and you will see the Indy in the morning just to your right. Be prepared for a long slog...its a good 5-10 minute walk to the ship from the HI!!!:D
