Zoo or animal sanctuary?

Is there a zoo or animal sanctuary on Cozumel? We are going to go there on a RCCL cruise at the end of June and it's my wife's 50th birthday. She loves animals and wondering if anywhere to go?

No zoo, but at Punta Sur there is an ecological sanctuary with birds and gators/crocs. I think one of the beaches at the very north end of the island has a sea turtle sanctuary. You can take an excursion to Xcaret on the mainland and visit their sanctuary. Watch your time though.

Depending on the time of year you travel, there are groups which help with the sea turtle rescue activities on the east coast.
