tempus137 Posted April 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted April 19, 2017 We will be cruising the Adriatic & Greek Isles next month. Our flight home from Venice includes a layover in London. The problem is that the flight from Venice lands at Gatwick, but the flight to NYC leaves from Heathrow. We have plenty of time to make the transfer, but I'm wondering which is the best way - express bus, train, taxi or private car.

It may depend on YOUR definition of "best". http://www.nationalexpress.com/airports/heathrow-to-gatwick-coach.aspx "direct coach(bus) transfer takes 1 hour 15 minutes - that's 15 minutes faster than the train, and doesn't involve any changes." WE will be taking the bus. Edited April 19, 2017 by $hip$hape
sddsddean Posted April 19, 2017 #3 Share Posted April 19, 2017 Agreed, I'd use the NE coach...just remember to get off at the correct terminal at LHR!! Simon
turnip eater Posted April 20, 2017 #4 Share Posted April 20, 2017 Just wondering...you can fly from Venice to Heathrow (British Airways). Probably more expensive, but saves the transfer.
tempus137 Posted April 20, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted April 20, 2017 Just wondering...you can fly from Venice to Heathrow (British Airways). Probably more expensive, but saves the transfer. The flight was part of a 1 day sale by American Airlines ($480pp RT from JFK). The cost to change the flight would be almost half of the original fare & almost 4 times the coast of the express bus.
