Shops open in St. Maarten on Sunday?

We will be in St. Maarten on Sunday. Does anyone know if the shops are open on Sundays when there are ships in port? TIA

We were there some years ago and the Dutch side were open, but the French side closed.

 

Did you try to Google or ask your question on the port of call section of CC if you don't get sufficient answers here.

I'd guess that about half of the shops in Philipsburg were open when we were there on a Sunday last summer.
