I just got off Island Princess and we had electricity the whole 10 days; but as in the Peter Sellers movie, The Magic Christian, I'm not 1000% sure we actually left port--it all looked eerily familiar. :rolleyes:

so how does the ship look after refurb? Bright and shiney?

We were last on Island Princess in 2007 and we kept remarking on our recent cruise how good the ship looked; with a couple of exceptions it was every bit as beautiful as it was 10 years ago. The gym was pretty grim--shiny and new but grim--and I can see why people are upset about that; a horrible place to have a safety drill . . . no seats. But I never did like the Universe Lounge so didn't miss that. The Horizon Court lost some of its charm since they replaced all the wrought iron furniture but the food was still good. I was sad to see paint peeling off the Lotus Pool but I'm sure they will fix that quickly. Otherwise, everything looked great.
