Hydrokitty Posted May 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 19, 2017 We're on a B2B in August and since it's a total of 3 weeks, I was thinking I would try to do some laundry while we're docked in Southampton. Has anyone does this? If so, where is it; is it self-service or fold; can you leave laundry in machines and like have lunch? Roughly what does it cost? I would LIKE to do laundry but I do not want to sacrifice sightseeing in Southampton.

John Bull Posted May 19, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 19, 2017 Atlantic dry cleaners. Their main shop in Bedford Place has coin-op self-service, or staff will put your stuff through washer & dryer & stack it folded & ready to collect a couple of hours later for about £10.80 total Easily walkable from there to SeaCity museum and city centre shops etc, though with a bag of laundry best to take a cab there from a cruise terminal http://www.atlantic.uk.net/shirts&laundry3.htm http://www.atlantic.uk.net/branchlocations.htm JB :)

There are on Cunard and P&O Not on Celebrity...they provide laundry service but it's quite pricey so I'd really rather find a laundromat Atlantic dry cleaners. I have written their name and shop down and will take it with me. We dock at 7 a.m. and sail at 4 so I think I'll have plenty of time and I'll have them wash & dry it for me so I can visit the museum and shops. I'm sure there will be taxis at the pier. PS: just located laundry on google maps....perfect...it's only 1/2 mile from laundry to museum and 1.5 from pier to laundry....Perfect. Do you suggest a nice little café for lunch or tea and scones? http://www.atlantic.uk.net/shirts&laundry3.htm http://www.atlantic.uk.net/branchlocations.htm JB :) Edited May 20, 2017 by Hydrokitty
John Bull Posted May 20, 2017 #7 Share Posted May 20, 2017 Lots of cafes & eateries & pubs in & just off Bedford Place, but they're mainly fast-food type of places. Most likely to suit is Hallidays, http://halladaystearooms.wixsite.com/halladays at the bottom of Bedford Place between the Civic Centre / Watts Park and the laundry. (The Civic Centre is the post-war building with the tall white clock-tower, SeaCity museum is attached to it.) For the full-blown "English Afternoon Tea" experience you'd have to go down to the other end of town to the Grand Café, https://grand-cafe.co.uk/ which is in SouthWestern House near Ocean cruise terminal - it was built as the main railway hotel for liner passengers, including those on Titanic. Yes, normally plenty of taxis at the cruise terminals JB :)
