kimlovesfl Posted June 9, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 9, 2017 I'm getting ready to make book my flights and make final payment on my Celebrity cruise Sept 14-22. I need cancellation insurance that covers cancellation for any reason, and for pre-existing conditions. We have a couple of elderly cats, one of whom has a chronic condition, and an elderly dog, and if one of them becomes ill, or one of us becomes ill, I want to be able to cancel my trip with no worries. Who have you used? I'm looking at a total expenditure, including air, of about $5000. Our hotels on either end have generous cancellation policies, so I'm not worried about them. LDVinNC Posted June 9, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 9, 2017 I suggest you check out tripinsurancestore.com or insuremytrip.com and see what is available. Then you can call and ask questions about any policy/policies that interest you.
easyboy Posted June 9, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 9, 2017 I use Travel Insured Int'l thru http://www.tripinsurancestore.com. Just be aware of required period by insurance company to purchase after booking to be covered by pre-existing medical condition. happy cruzer Posted June 9, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 9, 2017 When I need cancel for any reason, I look at the insurance offered through the cruise line. It is inferior in many ways but they can offer credits for any reason cancellation fairly inexpensively.
cherylandtk Posted June 9, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 9, 2017 Needing both CFAR (which is not 100% coverage, just 75%) and PEC limits you to the number of quality available policies. Global Alert and Travel Insured should be looked at, as well as compare those to cruiseline coverage. Pricing of third party policies will depend on your ages, cruiseline does not use age, which may be beneficial. Cruiseline does not cover air costs, however....so pick wisely.
