shipgeeks Posted July 24, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2017 Could not resist buying a fabulous dark grey wool cruise dress. The only downside is faint underarm marks left by deodorant or talcum powder. Any suggestions on how to try to remove them? Dry cleaner will cost $$$, as the skirt has many pleats. SadieN Posted July 24, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 24, 2017 Found this by googling 'how to get rid of underarm stains' http://www.housecleaningcentral.com/en/cleaning-tips/stain-removal/remove-deodorant-stain.html Good Luck! Just saw a commercial for a special deodorant for this issue. Dove? Secret? Years ago they would use dress shields. Straitlover Posted July 25, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 25, 2017 They sell a pink sponge that removes deodorant/antiperspirant product (not stains, the actual white product). Google deodorant remover sponge. Supposedly baby wipes also work.
CutieKakes Posted July 25, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 25, 2017 I just use a bit of cold water on the corner of a clean towel...works like a charm for me.
shipgeeks Posted July 25, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted July 25, 2017 Thank you, all. I tried using a fairly stiff suit brush; it worked pretty well. Marks are very faint now. Will try the other suggestions. Any other ideas still welcome, too!
