Frogdogpal Posted August 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 2, 2017 We have done quite a few cruises but never on Sky and never out of Miami. I have read that you can check your large bag on sky when you board the ship. But is there a porter or someone on the pier that you check your luggage with? Don't want to carry on when boarding. Is it safe? And what would be a fair gratuity? Have read all the water "rules" but did not see if you can you bring a open bottle of water past security when boarding? Also, are you allowed to bring on a bottle of wine? Thank you

No, you cannot bring an open bottle of water on board. Frogdogpal Posted August 2, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted August 2, 2017 Thank you Colin. What a horrible wine policy for consuming wine in your room!
easyboy Posted August 2, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 2, 2017 Not sure how large your bag is. But we usually give $2 per check-in luggage, like we give porters in the airport.
garycarla Posted August 2, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 2, 2017 Every cruise we have ever taken will take your bags at the pier. You can take any carry on bags onboard with you. Some ships have an area to check those, but we never bother. We drag the bag to lunch, and then to our room. Easy stuff. As to wine. You can buy wine onboard at any bar and take to your room if you want, or take wine onboard and pay the $15 fee.
