CeCe_ Posted August 4, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2017 (edited) We have never been on a Christmas cruise before, so this year, we are thinking of possibly taking one. When would be the best month to book a Christmas cruise? When quoting a 3rd person in a cabin significantly bumped the price up 3 times more expensive!!! It seems like RCCL applies the "promotions" very arbitrary. It seems to cheat on price somehow. Thank you for any advice. Clarea Posted August 4, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2017 I would next March/April for Christmas 2019. These are very popular cruises and the prices are generally very high. Booking in March/April allows you to book as soon as the itienraries are available.
scottnkim Posted August 4, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 4, 2017 Probably book it for sometime around December 25th... :-)
bouhunter Posted August 4, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2017 Be prepared, any cruise that includes Christmas or New Years will cost a LOT more than ones before or after.
CeCe_ Posted August 4, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted August 4, 2017 (edited) I understand it will cost a lot more than other time. We got a quote for a couple, and we are fine with it. Since the promotions said 50% less on 2nd guest and 25% less on 3rd guest, we try to add a 3rd guest, the price of the entire cabin went up more than double! For example, an inside cabin would cost $7000+ with a 3rd person and $3500+ for couple. Our balcony would be $9000+ with a 3rd person and about $4200 for couple. Just don't understand what formula the cruise line uses to calculate that. Edited August 4, 2017 by CeCe_

So not surprising that you are not getting the current 3rd person discount for the holiday cruise. Since it's a holiday cruise, triple and quad cabins are most likely be in high demand for families/kids so they are probbaly pricing them at a higher premium.
