RCL/Celebrity Visa card - Rewards question. Using the OBC for other persons.

I have a Celebrity/Azamara/Royal credit card with rewards including onboard credit, for those cruise lines. If I redeem for example $500 of rewards for onboard credit with Royal, once onboard, can I buy an alcohol beverage package for someone else ? The credit card is in my name, but I don't drink alcohol [sober 25+ years !]. I was going to get the onboard credit, and once on the ship use it to buy my husband the alcohol package. Is this doable? Using onboard credit to buy him the package? (this assumes that what I have read, that unlike most lines, not everyone in the cabin has to buy the package)

Yes, you can buy on board with the CC credits. Or you can purchase on line with those CC credits. This is if RCI doesn't force all adults in the cabin to purchase the same drinks package.

The OBC will appear on your Onboard account and can be used for any purchases on board. At least that's how it worked for us few times we redeemed the points. They specifically advertise the points redemption as an " opportunity to book spa treatment, relax with glass of vine", etc.

Yes, you can use your OBC for the drink package or any other charge that goes on your account. Last cruise I cashed in some points forOBC and did not use them all and got a cash back!
