sailing canary Posted September 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2017 We're thinking of renting an apartment for a week, pre or post cruise. What would we expect to pay for groceries in a typical supermarket e.g litre of milk bread orange juice bacon butter bottle of wine pork chops Also the average price of a meal for 2 in a reasonable restaurant - neither Michelin starred nor fast food. GrJ Berkshire Posted September 16, 2017 #5 Share Posted September 16, 2017 We Traveled in Denmark on a car tour for 3 weeks 5 years ago. We found prices much the same as the UK. However now as a result of the disastrous brexit vote sterling is 20/25% down, so prices will be that much higher than UK . As indeed prices are across most of Europe for UK travellers. Fuel used to be cheaper in most places but the difference is negligible or higher. Denmark is expensive for alcohol, well up on UK prices
hallasm Posted September 20, 2017 #6 Share Posted September 20, 2017 Just tried to find some representative prices - but very much depend on the type of supermarket Irma expensive and Netto is cheap - also notice that quality might be very different from what your are used to - bacon in Denmark is very different from Danish Bacon sold in the UK - butter is salted - just few examples. price also depend on the quality of the product. litre of milk DKK 8,50 bread, rugbrød 750g - DKK 16,75 orange juice 1L - DKK 21,00 bacon - 100g - DKK 22,00 butter, 250 g - DKK 16,00 bottle of wine - DKK 60,00 - everything from DKK 32 and up pork chops , 400g - DKK 40,00 Restaurant will be like DKK 250 pp + drinks. If you go for an apartment, once you have the area I can provide a list of supermarkets and possible restaurants.
