We will be returning from our cruise in Jan. in the a.m. but won't fly out until 6p.m. any ideas what to do with our time that doesn't involve car rental? Will be at Port Canaveral and flying out of Orlando.

We will be returning from our cruise in Jan. in the a.m. but won't fly out until 6p.m. any ideas what to do with our time that doesn't involve car rental? Will be at Port Canaveral and flying out of Orlando.

The ship normally offers an excursion to Kennedy Space Center that includes transportation to the airport.

IF you do a ship's post-cruise excursion, you will get to the airport about 1pm or so...still a long time to wait! Any way to change to an earlier flight?

Twice we had the same issue out of Ft. Lauderdale and Tampa where our flight out was not till 6pm. The first time was in Ft. Lauderdale and we tried a ship excursion but it was still only 1pm when we got to the airport. The second time was in Tampa and we rented a car, shoved the luggage in the trunk and went out exploring. Had to get a full size rental to get a big enough trunk. :D

We had a great time exploring the Salvador Dali museum in St. Petersburg and a terrific afternoon lunch before heading to the airport.

Thanks everyone for some great ideas! :Unfortunately can't change to an earlier flight.

My suggestion is to rent a car for the day and visit the space center.
