Ephesus / Kusadasi gone from 2018 itineraries

We received notification today that we will be stopping at Rhodes instead of Ephesus in June 2018. RC won’t be stopping at Ephesus at all in 2018. I’m not bothered by the change but will there be a follow on impact from all the ports now being in the EU? I recall some discussion about this before related to VAT.

That's sad! we had one of our best meals in Kusadasi of all our mediterranean stops in 2015 and Ephesus was awesome to see!

That' is too bad, Ephesus is amazing. But on the other hand we had a fabulous day

in Rhodes too. So much so that we wanted to go back but not many itineraries go

there. If you can't go to Turkey, Rhodes is a good alternative.

Istanbul & Kusadasi were replaced with Santorini & Mykonos on last years cruise after the bombing in the bazaar and the failed coup. Hope cool heads can figure this mess out.

Sad. It was my favorite port in the Med. I found it fascinating, so much history. The terrace houses, the Libary....so neat. So glad we had the chance to go.

It's sad for the lovely people of Turkey too. We've stopped a number of times in Kusadasi and always enjoyed it and had a very warm welcome. The tourist trade in Turkey is taking a huge hit with bookings to many of the popular seaside resorts well down this year. I wouldn't hesitate to visit these Turkish resorts.

 

Having said that, if I was to choose any port to replace Turkey then Rhodes has to be one of the best :)
