redhead424 Posted June 20, 2004 Author #3 Share Posted June 20, 2004 sorry, I'm still a little excited. we stepped on board at exactly 12pm. After checking out the cabin and meeting our stewardess, proceeded to make ressies for every night at the Sterling. no problems...even got the same table, except for the last formal night. red
redhead424 Posted June 20, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted June 20, 2004 Throughout the cruise we were overwhelmed with the service and attentiveness of the crew and wait staff. At the captains cocktail party we were offered cocktails at least 20 times, maybe more. Except for arriving a few minutes late in Juneau, we docked at precisely the appointed time at every port. red
srphnx Posted June 20, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 20, 2004 Every night in Sterling?.. is the 2 day limit gone? redhead424 Posted June 20, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted June 20, 2004 Appearently that was not a problem. the concierge never skipped a beat when I requested the Sterling dining room for 6pm every night. Although I was prepared to make ressies in the other dining rooms, it wasnt necessary. red
momofcnb Posted June 20, 2004 #7 Share Posted June 20, 2004 Welcome back! So what excursions did you take? There has been a lot of talk about the dress for "Alaska Formal" nights. What was the norm on yours? Thanks! UNTIL OUR FIRST ALASKA CRUISE

redhead424 Posted June 20, 2004 Author #9 Share Posted June 20, 2004 momofcnb....on our cruise, formal night ran the usual gambet from tuxes to sports jackets and ties. Most of the ladies dressed up a bit more than the men. But then we enjoy that! srphnx.....I couldn't say, but maybe it had something to do with all the recent unfavorable publicity. The powers that be, shall we say, don't want to "rock the boat" anymore than necessary? hmmm... red
