labeam Posted November 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 1, 2017 Our cruise ship (Silver Wind) docks in Barbados at 5 am according to itinerary. We were originally supposed to be on AA flight to Miami at 8:45 which seemed tight. Now AA changed it to 8:00 that makes it even tighter. Does anyone know how long does it take to get off the ship once it docks in Barbados and to make it the airport? Can we make 8:00 am flight or is it too tight? Rare Keith1010 Posted November 9, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 9, 2017 I would not do this. I think there is too much risk. I would call AA to see if you can get a later flight. Keith
OceansOfTravels Posted November 11, 2017 #3 Share Posted November 11, 2017 It's going to take you about 35-40 minutes to get there, without traffic, and all predicated upon not stopping in order to fill the bus or taxi that you'd take. Even if you made it off by 6AM, you could be there at 7AM, which is still too close to cut an international flight. American Airlines once cancelled us on an international flight, Baltimore to Montego, and put us on a flight pattern that went Baltimore, Philly, Montego Bay, all because we checked in 1 hour and 50 minutes before the flight left. American stops taking bags for international flights at 2 hours if you're not changing planes I believe. So, I would call American and see if you could get a later flight, either later in the day, or the next day if you have to. Too much to risk.
