AussieVisi2r Posted December 3, 2017 Author #126 Share Posted December 3, 2017 Thursday 23rd November Singapore, Singapore. Get off my ship day. We all had to get off, then could get back on. So off we went. I convinced Andy to go in a wheel chair as it would be a slow process. And sure enough, it took over an hour. As we came back they stamped me in - which meant I couldn't leave the ship again!!!!!!! NO!!!! as I needed to get a few supplies from the shops and realised my sunnies had been eaten by a security conveyer belt!!!! After swift begging and pleading they allowed me to re do the whole immigration things again and go out. So back in with Andy, more form filling and off I went. Stop one - Sunglasses shop! My main sunnies were killed in Iceland so I had been using the emergency ones for the last few month - puppy chewed ear pieces and all. So not a total disaster! But there I was - off on my 4th Singapore adventure in 20 hours and according to the lovely guy at immigration the only person ever to sign in and out of Singapore twice in the one morning. But fun was had - then off to we set on trip two! William made me my amazing Citraqua cocktail. Delicious. Two pars Hydrogen, one part Oxygen, add some Carbon Dioxide and a handful of Citris. Yum. And away we went on leg two! Singapore to Sydney!
direptor Posted December 5, 2017 #127 Share Posted December 5, 2017 Wednesday 22nd NovemberAt Sea - then a 3pm arrival in Singapore. I did a number of shore visits during this time. #1 - I went to 'Gardens by the Bay.' A stunning place I had been to on two previous visits. But I had not been inside the domes. So off I went. And I was not disappointed. This 250 acre park is built on reclaimed land and is the home of the famous 'tree structures' Supertree Grove - giant metal trees covered in amazing plant life. At night they host a fantastic laser show. So much better then fireworks. With the Mariner Bay Sands hotel in the background and huge suspended walk ways above. There are two ginormous conservatories / glasshouses - energy efficient and sustainable building principals, the roof is self supporting without internal support poles. The Flower Dome is 3 acres, is a mild, dry climate and houses Mediterranean, Australia, South America, South Africa plants. Not my photo!. Just to share, the plants in the flower domes change frequently and go by different themes so each time you visit, you might see something different. KazAllen Posted December 6, 2017 #128 Share Posted December 6, 2017 Loving your blog Raina, looks like you are having a wonderful time. I have friends who are doing both these cruises, names Bob and Janice, they are D+ so you would have seen them in the Diamond Lounge etc. They are travelling with another couple, Peter and Marlene, both couples from Wollongong area. AussieVisi2r Posted December 18, 2017 Author #134 Share Posted December 18, 2017 Sorry guys. I’m still here. Second leg was great. I’ll get into it. But ..... I was a bit shattered by the behavour of many of my fellow cruisers who were ...... not wonderful on the other social media site. The change in clientele and attitude was mind blowing. People were complaining about the most ridiculous things. One person went off on FB as the concierge didn’t recognize her the moment she walked into the lounge on day 1. She was is a suite and this was just unacceptable. And so many others who complained about things such as they were charged for their washing bag and they were “d plus and in a suite” so should be treated better. Then the rubbish posts started about the GI. As we sailed from Hobart, someone posted about 850 people in hospital in Hobart and theee dead. All total rubbish of course. So I do apologize. But I was so over it!!!!! And now I have had my rant so I will feel better. Again sorry!!!! Raina.
