wannavacay Posted January 4, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 4, 2018 The tour we want is only offered mid-morning, and we are worried that we won't get there in time for the tour in a rental car based on the time the rental office opens & rush hour traffic. Kualoa Ranch offers reasonably priced transportation to/from, and could pick us up at 7am in Waikiki and then leave the Ranch at 2:30. The tour ends around 11:30. The big question is: Without booking another tour, is there anything to do there between the time the tour ends and the time they would drive us back to Waikiki? Can we just wander around? Are there places to sit down inside in case it's pouring outside? I hear a cab is too expensive... but if it's going to avoid wasting several hours standing around with nothing to do, nominal extra cost could be worth it. Any idea what the rough cost is for a cab/Uber back to Waikiki Beach? Thanks for any insights.
cccole Posted January 4, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 4, 2018 Have you checked Uber? You mention cab/Uber but don't indicate that you have checked fares. Totally understand wanting to max your time on Oahu and sitting around Kualoa Ranch does not sound like a great idea. JMO Cherie
wannavacay Posted January 5, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted January 5, 2018 Hi, I haven't checked fares for either a cab or Uber. I was hoping someone already had a rough idea of the fares from previous experience.
cccole Posted January 5, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 5, 2018 You can easily check Uber fares by putting the route into your phone. What someone experienced two days ago may not be the same as what you will experience. It is just a way to get an estimated cost. Have a great time. WaterView2 Posted January 6, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 6, 2018 If you stay at the ranch you can walk around the central area but there's not that much to see. There are shelters plus the gift shop and restaurant so staying out of any rain wouldn't be a problem. I don't know what taxi or uber fares would be but I expect quite expensive. wannavacay Posted January 6, 2018 Author #6 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Exactly what I needed to know. Thanks!
felicityd Posted January 8, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 8, 2018 We had about an hour and a half after our tour finished before the bus took us back to Waikiki. We just sat and had lunch in the cafe and cooled off. Enjoy Kualoa Ranch, I thought it was the best!
