margbem Posted January 18, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 18, 2018 We are in St John's 8am to 11pm. We have a ship's excursion booked at 1pm on a boat trip so we need to be back on our ship by noon to have lunch and get ready to go back out. If we get off the ship at 9am could we get a taxi at the dock to take us to see the above places? Would we have enough time with 1.5 hours at the Dockyard? And will we easily get a taxi there to take us back to the ship for noon? Help!!
Rare jean87510 Posted January 19, 2018 #2 Share Posted January 19, 2018 Its about a 35-40 minute drive which at the earliest would get you there by at least 945am. Subtract 45 minutes from 12pm and you have 1115am to leave to get back to ship. There are taxis there and you can request your driver to wait if you want. It is certainly doable if all you want to do is just roam around for 1 1/2 hours. If you are running late, you can always grab something to eat at the port. It's on the opposite side of island from cruise terminal. If you are doing a boat trip, are you going back to your room to grab a towel and change into bathing suits? I would do that first, then grab lunch, hit a bathroom, then go on excursion. Good luck!

If we don't ask the driver to wait, will there be taxis there that we could pick up easily for the return journey?
Rare jean87510 Posted January 19, 2018 #4 Share Posted January 19, 2018 Yes. But I'd still ask your cab driver. Sent from my SM-G955U using Forums mobile app
