LSKC Posted January 28, 2018 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2018 If we are on Bermuda for only 1.5 days... I think I'd mostly like to spend it enjoying the beautiful surroundings. We like beach days (would prefer to rent a lounge chair and be able to buy a couple cocktails and some food) and would bring our own snorkel gear. Is there an ideal beach that allows sunning and safe swimming as well as from-shore snorkeling? How far from port (Kings Wharf)? Costs if you know them. ALSO: we would be going mid-late September to celebrate 20th anniversary. Would the water temps still be lovely and warmish? My husband's a 'wimp' about cold water lol. thanks! Beachiekeen Posted February 5, 2018 #2 Share Posted February 5, 2018 As part of a tour, we snorkeled at Somerset Long Bay, not far from the Dockyard. There is no reef there, but you do see turtles. The water was very calm (we were there in October) and it was a pretty beach, the water wasn't too deep, and you didn't have to go far from shore to see them. Church Bay is also supposed to be very good for snorkeling. https://www.bermuda-attractions.com/bermuda_000007.htm There are no facilities at either beach however. Maybe you could do some snorkeling and then take the shuttle and hang out at Horseshoe Bay the rest of the day.
