Hi does anyone know how far it is from cruise terminal to centre of Amsterdam?

Should we book excursions or can you go independently?

The cruise terminal is in the centre of Amsterdam, about a 10 min walk from the Central train station.

It’s a very easy, flat walk that takes 10-15 mins. No need for a shuttle and no need to pay top dollar for a P&O tour. We managed a circular walk to and from Dam Square without any difficulty, and I was pushing a wheelchair! It’s a very interesting sailaway, especially when it’s dark, as you see inside all the city apartments and offices, all of which are illuminated.

A few years since we went, we bought a book of tram tickets to get around.

The centre of Amsterdam is very walkable,quite compact,in parts rather like a rabbit warren with all the narrow streets,we have always found it a tremendously 'alive' city to walk around,really enjoyable!

there is a tram stop outside the cruise terminal from which you can get a tram to and from the city centre.
