Artifical sweeteners in Italian restaurants/enotecas?

Can anyone tell me if cafes,restaurants,etc in Rome and Venice have artifical sweeteners available for beverages? Or do I need to bring my own SweetnLow or Splenda with me precruise? I cannot add sugar to sweeten things as I am a diabetic, so I am unable to embrace the local culture on this issue. Thanks

You can find artifical sweetner in Italy,but you have to ask for it. I would highly suggest you take whatever it is that use as it will be quicker to pull out of your bag then ask for it.I take a small baggies with S&L with me when I travel so I never have a problem.

Some restaurants will have artificial sweetners and some won't. It's such a small and easy item to pack, if you're a diabetic, I would suggest not taking a chance and keeping some in your handbag.

I was in Italy just a few months ago and it was hit or miss on the artificial sweetners. We carry some with us so we don't have to worry about it. My wife just carrys it in a small plastic seal top bag in her hand bag.
