Artifical sweeteners in Italian restaurants/enotecas?

Recommended Posts

Can anyone tell me if cafes, restaurants, etc in Rome and Venice have artifical sweeteners available for beverages? Or do I need to bring my own SweetnLow or Splenda with me precruise? I cannot add sugar to sweeten things as I am a diabetic, so I am unable to embrace the local culture on this issue. Thanks

You can find artifical sweetner in Italy, but you have to ask for it. I would highly suggest you take whatever it is that use as it will be quicker to pull out of your bag then ask for it.I take a small baggies with S&L with me when I travel so I never have a problem.
