PORT DAY: COZUMEL [emoji1166] THURSDAY 02/22

 

Me and the DH got up and ready about 9am today was invasion of the towel animals on lido deck and the chair hogs were not out yet. So I took this opportunity to take some photos.

We at breakfast at the buffet and DH headed back to the room and I explored for a bit.

PORT DAY: COZUMEL [emoji1166] THURSDAY 02/22

 

Today we were in Cozumel [emoji1166][emoji274]

The weather was beautiful, again we had no planned excursions. Me, DH and 2 of our youngest boys along with my sister and her family were here about 2 years ago. We took a cab and spent the day at Paradise Beach which was very relaxing and affordable. I will definitely go back there. We paid for the fun day pass and had access to the pool, water toys, kayaks, inflatables, snorkeling gear etc. They also had Jet Ski rental etc. I must say those damn inflatables were in very deep water and much farther out then it looks on the pictures. My then 7 year old could not enjoy it, because he's a beginner swimmer. I'm an OK swimmer and I was so exhausted after swimming to the Inflatables I had no strength to pull myself up. [emoji45]

 

 

After the mandatory walk through of the liquor/duty free shop. We reached the security point where they search your bags to make sure you're not bringing anything illegal from of the boat into Mexico [emoji849]. They even had a K9 ??? I thought to myself that it was kinda backwards as they don't have a search for the return on the boat and When you're walking around in Mexico You’re offered Marijuana on every corner... Anyways

 

We meet the others from our group right out front and was approached by a young lady selling tour/excursion packages. We knew we wanted to do ATVs while here and she had a 4 hour beach day and ATV ride for $85 each. We all agreed and was ready to pay until she asked for our S&S cards to bill our rooms and I was like uhhh no. I had no idea Carnival had people outside the ship selling excursions. [emoji848]

 

We decided to walk out of the port area and across the street where there were a lot of stores to rent cars, vans, jeeps, etc. There were also stands with people selling excursions. We found a 3 hour ATV and tequila tour by a company called Dune Buggy Adventour. I believe $50 each or $80 for a double seat ATV. Being the brave soul that I am of course I wanted to drive my own..(Only after I asked if it was automatic and they said yes.)

 

We needed 9 singles and 1 double, so we were told to come back in a couple hours and they will have enough for all of us to take a ride together. So we all decided to walk over to the large shopping plaza that had a Margaritaville, Señor Frogs and lots of little shops. I found this cute little pandora Ship charm.

Great Review! Loving your pictures! We'll be sailing on the Vista next year in a Havana Cabin. I'm sure you and your friends visited this area of the Ship. :)

Great review! We are planning to cruise on Vista June 2019 as a graduation gift for our high school son. Very excited!

 

 

YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ARE REALLY GOING TO ENJOY, THERE IS SO MUCH TO DO. MY KIDS LOVE TO CRUISE DURING THE SUMMER BECAUSE THERE ARE MORE KIDS AND TEENS ON DURING THAT TIME. I'M HOPING TO GO ON THE HORIZON WHEN IT COMES TO MIAMI [emoji846]

The group all wanted to have a few drinks at Margaritaville. I left them there sitting and decided to take a walk to the beach and do a little snorkeling. On my way I took a few pictures

We have lots of iguanas in Florida but I’ve never seen one this color

I also came across a lot of dead fish and crabs. My DH seem to think people fish there and filet the fish and leave the head and bones there. I think they washed ashore. Who knows?

A short walk ahead I came across Sunset dive bar/restaurant and in the back was Sand Dollar Sports that actually had snorkeling, scuba and snuba tours, that seemed to be reasonably priced. They also had photo packages available. I had my own snorkeling gear and asked to rent a locker and life jacket, Both were under $5 each. I was warned that it was a public beach and I would be snorkeling at my own risk. I’m No snorkel pro so I didn’t plan to go to far out and wanted the life jacket just incase the waters were rough. There is a Staircase to enter and exit the water. The water didn’t seem too deep. I saw plenty of colorful fish and was pleased with my little snorkel adventure[emoji4].

OK now it's time to head back to Dune Bugdy adventour for our ATV tour.

The ATV tour started with a drive along the coast/strip which was great because that was like a little tour, We drove through the “jungle” and then alongside the beach, we stopped and took a water break provided by them and then headed to the tequila tour.

 

We parked and crossed the street for the tequila part of our tour. The tour was probably about 20-30 minutes.
