EMBARKATION DAY CONT'D

I must admit I was on cloud 9 because I was on the Vista, But I was not wowed by the Atrium. I did miss the Grand Atrium and glass elevators. Either way this was my home for the next 6 nights and I was in vacation mode.;p

We made a quick stop to our cabin (deck7 cabin 7351) to drop off sodas, our carry on bags and grab our S&S cards from our mailbox. DH didn't like the idea of the cards being left in the mailbox, but it was sealed and it says if it had been opened to go to guest services. Our room steward, Made came over to introduce himself and asked if there was anything we needed and gave us a paper to fill out to decide if we wanted room service morning or evening. I requested some ice and robes.

We then headed to Guy’s Pig and Anchor for lunch, because I read on CC they close at 2:30. I think I tried a little bit of everything. There was a lot of different meat and BBQ sauces to choose from. My favorite was the collard greens. The Mac n cheese can use some work.

The only thing they probably should change is place some water, lemon and tea stands near by.... idk maybe I missed it. We ate here twice during our cruise.

But overall the food was great I’ll give it an eight!!!

We explored the ship for a little bit more and before you know it it was time for the muster drill.

We were in Station D4 can’t remember exactly where it was but our S&S cards were scanned as we entered, and I was excited to see that it was indoors and we had seats. #winning

Quick selfie while we wait for Matt to call out the people who didn’t show yet [emoji849]

We headed up to the Lido for the sail away party and also for a meet and greet at RedFrog( from a roll call on another social media site ) we wore blue Mardi Gras Beads , but only meet about 4 people. The Deck was really packed though.

A few drinks and slide dances later, we decided to head back to our cabin to check on our luggage which was there and so was the robes and Ice... Made was great the whole cruise no complaints.. (except for maybe not getting a towel animal daily).

I started putting our things away and noticed there was a used towel In the closet. I didn’t make a fuss about it, I just simply put it on the floor so Made will know to replace it...

another thing I noticed was the fridge on Victory or Glory was stocked with small shot bottles of liquor, soda and water for purchase... this fridge was empty which is fine with me more space to keep my water and sodas nice and cold. The cabin was a typical inside cabin, which we’re both ok with as we don’t spend a lot of time there anyway.

We rested for a bit and then headed to Deck 5 Java blue Cafe to check in for YTD the wait was not long at all. We were seated at a 2 top against the wall. The waiters were great and so was the food. 5666f335e2cdac9a6cd8885a67a70657.jpg

We then headed to the rock the promenade for a bit and DH played a few hands of Blackjack and I tried my luck on roulette and craps, we both left in the negative.... Ok time to head up to the cabin for bed...

Great start to the review. I can’t wait to read the rest. Funny thing is that we went to Florida last week for spring break. Stayed in Clermont. Went to the beach one day and saw the NCL ship leaving so I took a picture and text my husband to fax my birth certificate so I could catch the ship. Negative, he said. Wishful thinking. I enjoyed Florida but would much rather be cruising. My next cruise is not until August. Yall took great pictures, congratulations on your anniversary. We are from Texas and usually sail out of Galveston.

EMBARKATION DAY: SUNDAY 02/18/18

Bags are packed with their luggage tags, health form and boarding passes printed, passports packed, bonine chewed and sea-bands applied.

It's our turn to board this beautiful ship that I've read so much about!!!

Coincidentally, after booking and talking with friends we found out there were 4 other couples all celebrating anniversaries or birthdays and all around the same age group.

We all live local and had different check-in times. None of us are platinum or diamond and did not pay for FTTF. 6 of us decided to ride together and park at the port which is directly across the street and $22 a day(no need to reserve and you pay at the end of you cruise)...The other 4 were dropped off.

We arrived at the port a little after 1:30, dropped our bags off at the porter and headed inside the terminal. To my surprise there was no line no waiting. We showed our boarding pass, They scanned our passport with a hand held device and there was no mention of the health form. I'm assuming all is electronic now. We went through the metal detectors and were given the Ok to head up to check-in...When we got upstairs there were no lines at the check-in desk.. as a matter of fact there was no one at the check-in desks. Our pictures were not Taken. We showed our boarding pass and was directed to take our embarkation picture and got on to the ship......YAYYY!!! That had to be the most smoothest check-in ever.

We will board the Vista, (family and friends, 20 in all) in July 2018, I hope our embarkation goes as smoothly as yours!!!

Thanks for your comments :*, I guess your husband said Not without him. Florida is a nice vacation spot, people always ask why do I leave one beach to go to another and I always say its not so much the ports that we visit, its the cruising that I love. Enjoy your August Cruise!!!

SEA DAY MONDAY 02/19/18

Today was the 1st sea day and we had planned to do absolutely nothing. No alarms were set, no kids to get off to school and no time clocks to punch. We slept until after 10, had breakfast at the Lido buffet and lounged around the pool area/RedFrog Bar and had a couple of drinks with our friends and then this happened :

SRFGjK6YkUg

The DH auditioned for the Lip sync Battle.. he said I talked him into .... Well if I told ya to jump off the ship would you??

I don’t know if he had too many drinks or not enough drinks... but I know he has more rhythm then that ;p.. he didn’t win but it was all for fun and fun for all. ( I think that’s Carnival’s Fun Ship Saying)

The older guy and older women won and we later found out they had been married for years. They would compete at the actual Lip Sync Battle on Friday.

(Don’t you just love Matt, he’s so quick on his feet with his comments/jokes)

SEA DAY CONT'D

The guys went and played a little pool and Us ladies went down to Guest Services for a deck of cards and to see if they would accommodate our group for Dinner, we heard back about an hour later via a slip in our mailboxes that our new dinner time will be 8:15 In the Horizon Restaurant.

We meet our friends for lunch at Guys Burgers, which was tasty as usual, played a few hands of spades and tried a few times to do the sky ride but either the line was too long or it was closed because it was too windy. (which was kind of a trend throughout the cruise so we eventually gave up), some of our friends went and played bingo and DH and I explored for a bit before checking out the 5:30 Comedy Show: Tony Esposito. Tony was pretty funny, we had planned to catch the adult show later. DH and I played at the casino for some time and before we knew it was time to get ready for dinner.

SEA DAY Cont'd

Tonight was elegant night=lobster night 🤤

I wore a long black dress and the hubby wore black slacks and a button down long sleeve shirt (no suite, tie or evening gown) ... all I want is lobster please....

DH and I were the 1st in our group to show up at the Horizon dining room and was shown to a 10 top table. There seem to be a little confusion because once seated about 3 people came up to us asking to see our S&S card. Thank goodness It didn’t take them long to figure things out and the 10 of us were now all seated and ready to indulge. The service was great, not a long wait for food unless we didn’t notice because we were chatting.

I ordered 2 lobster tails and they were delicious, we must’ve sat and talked for a while because the wait staff started clearing the tables around us and we were some of the last to leave the dining room. Oops. Im not sure the wait staff did their usual dance/show or we missed it. Do they don’t perform on elegant night??? The DH and I made a quick stop to the cabin so I can change out of the heels and headed to the Limelight lounge for an hour or so and then to the casino. We turned in a little after 1am.
