Plane side to sea side in Venice

Can anyone give me an estimate of the time it will take my daughter and I to get through customs in Venice and then travel from the airport to the cruise ship? Trying to decide if we could do an evening excursion on our arrival day for a Viking Ocean cruise. TIA! :)

First, bag claim will take time. I have not seen bags move fast in any Italian airport. Expect at least 30 minutes, probably more like 45. Immigration will take some time...20 minutes. Allow 30 minutes from airport to ship by taxi, maybe a little more. So you are looking at 2 hours, minimum.

If you plan on using a land taxi you will likely make it in about 1;15. But this really depends on how long it takes to get your luggage. Once in a taxi it is about a 20 min ride. If using the ATVO bus it will take somewhat longer since you have to wait for the bus (they run every 20 min) and then would have to get from the Piazale Roma to the port which will certainly add to the time.
