suekel Posted April 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 11, 2018 Is there a difference in price in booking a cruise that is part of a world cruise or booking the cruise as a "standalone"?
fishywood Posted April 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 11, 2018 Are you asking if it is possible to book a World Cruise segment but designate it as a regular standalone sailing at a different (presumably lower) fare? I would think that to be a pretty strong no. Or are you asking if a comparable itinerary on a different ship at a different time would be priced differently than a World Cruise segment? Certainly there would be a premium for the World Cruise segment if only because you are on Pacific Princess rather than a ship with several times the number of paying passengers. World Cruises (and their segments) have a higher percentage of sea days and will put on more entertainment and activities on those days than on a standalone sailing. suekel Posted April 11, 2018 Author #3 Share Posted April 11, 2018 The second. When they release the pricing to Elites on 4/24 for the World Cruise, they have a segment for the Panama Canal which is what I am interested in doing in January 2020. If it's cheaper to book it when the standalones come out, I shall wait. Thank you for your answer.
TheRabbit Posted April 11, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 11, 2018 Is there a difference in price in booking a cruise that is part of a world cruise or booking the cruise as a "standalone"? I imagine it would be just like any cruise sold in segments or not, any segment/cruise with a higher demand would go for more. If your question is can you buy the individual segments as separate cruises and come out cheaper, I doubt it, as once you get past about 45 days a bunch of extras kick in. There is another active thread about world cruises, I believe, that is active on this subject right now.
suekel Posted April 11, 2018 Author #5 Share Posted April 11, 2018 thanks. I don't want (well I do but not yet) to do a world cruise. I was just curious about one specific segment. Thanks
